    SimplyNay is an 8th generation Native Washingtonian born, bred, and continuing to build in Ward 8. An award-winning wordsmith, SimplyNay 's original stage-play “The Belle and the Bulldagger” won “Best Drama” at the 2019 D.C. Black Theatre and Arts Festival. Her published work includes “#Successfully Single: Confessions Of A Professional Dater” and contributions to “Love Letters To Our Daughters: A Collection of Womanly Affirmations” and “Shout It Out: Coming Out Black and Brown”.

    SimplyNay is an internationally syndicated radio personality. For 10 years, she has hosted “The One Mic Stand with SimplyNay”. This online radio show is now heard by nearly 3 million people in 209 countries. In 2014, she expanded this endeavor into STAND Omnimedia, a diversified digital media platform named after its mission to “STAND with the voices that are most often silenced.”

    When she's not on the mic, SimplyNay is the Executive Director of The Future Foundation; the only trauma-informed drop-in center for teens and their families in Ward 8 established in 2012. For this work, she has been awarded the “2018 Woman of Achievement Award” by Women’s Information Network and “Leader of the Year” by the Young Education Professionals. Many are surprised to learn that SimplyNay is an award-winning cosplayer. Most recently winning the Captain Green Lantern 2019 title. She also competes in beauty pageants and currently
reigns as Miss Plus America D.C. She credits being a Virgo for her continued success and lives by her original mantra #supportisFREE
